Sailing Yacht Charters
If you’re looking to experience something new, do you go and watch, or get involved as a novice? Sailing yacht charters provide the best of both worlds, enabling you to experience all the exhilaration of being on the water, while choosing whether to relax and enjoy the view, or take hold of the helm.
With an experienced, capable skipper and crew taking care of your every need, there is nothing to worry about. But should you want to play your own small part in sailing a beautiful classic yacht, they will be there to guide you as part of the team. Whether you arrange a sailing yacht charter as a treat for someone special, or simply want a different way to get together with friends or family, it makes for a memorable day out.
Despite the best laid plans, one magical element in your sailing yacht charter is the weather. The wind and tides will dictate where your charter takes you during your day on the water. And you’ll need to dress according to conditions; as someone famously said, “There’s no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong type of clothes.” If the wind is brisk, you’ll sail faster; if the winds are light, then a leisurely cruise may be in order.
Most sailing yacht charters have an air of luxury that helps to create a special day for everyone in your party. Usually you can expect the crew to arrange delicious refreshments and a tasty lunch on board. And if the yacht you charter is of a good size, there will bespace in the cockpit or a cabin below deck where you can take a seat, relax and enjoy your meal in comfort. If you charter a classic yacht, then the interior is likely to be delightfully appointed by gleaming mahogany furniture and fittings – the style that harks back to an earlier era of sail.
If you are planning to charter a yacht for a day’s sailing, it usually means an early start. To make the most of your day on the water, it’s best to slip anchor in the morning light, giving you the best opportunity to sail a good distance. Sailing in the dark at the end of a long day is usually something best left to experienced sailors, so most sailing yacht charters are back at anchor before dark.
Welcome word from David Murrin:
I know it has not been the best summer on record, but that being said The Solent always has the best weather on the south coast of England, so it’s never quite as bad as the mainland!
We have re-designed the website so that the visitor gets some idea of charter destinations in the Solent, all of which are worth visiting, each with its own merits.
This year there are a host of amazing regattas on the Solent with some stunning yachts not often seen in the UK, all the details are in the calendar, and that’s not including the Olympics! Please remember that we can operate a charter at short notice so one can do a weather check.
Our mainstream product is a Corporate day catering for eight people. This works out at an all in cost of £312.00 per head including a fabulous lunch and plenty of good wines. Naturally if more than one charter is bought at once further discounts are available to a level of £218.00 per head.
In addition we have offered a day in which sailing is combined with a 60 minute presentation on my book, “Breaking the Code of History”. www.breakingthecodeofhistory.com. This would be suitable for all levels of business clients or colleagues.
In addition we run now a referral program. Any referral that leads to a charter is rewarded with a day’s sailing for one person. i.e. 8 referrals in a year would mean one free day for you and your guests of choice.
I would be happy to discuss any of the above any time, and thank you, in anticipation, for your support.
